In this video, you'll learn how to use Akana to create, modify, and attach authentication policies, such as OAuth, for API security.

First, when you're in Akana, click More, then Organizations, and select All Organization. Here, you will see your top-level tenant organization.

On the left, click on Policies. Then click add to add a policy. You will give the policy a name and select one of three categories:

  1. Compliance policy
  2. Operational policy
  3. Service level policy

Security policies are operational policies. When you select operational policy, you'll be able to select a subtype. In this example, we'll select authentication. Then, give the policy a description and click save.

This creates your policy in draft status. Next, edit the policy summary to configure the policy the way you want it by selecting the subject category and authentication domains. You can choose whether to select audit data or not. Click save.

To activate the policy, click actions and activate policy.

The policy will now be active and can be attached to your APIs.

That's how easy it is to create a policy in the Akana developer portal
