Akana Execs Explain How to Tame the API Frenzy
Los Angeles, CA - June 19, 2013 – Two executives from SOA Software, a leading provider of API Management solutions, will discuss how to tame the current API “frenzy” in two featured presentations at this week’s GigaOM Structure and API Days conferences in San Francisco, the company announced today. Roberto Medrano, Executive Vice President, and Sachin Agarwal, Vice President of Product Marketing, will deliver the session API frenzy: the implications and planning for a successful API strategy. The content is increasingly relevant as enterprises make their applications available as application programmer interfaces (APIs) in order to drive business growth and expose new revenue and partnership opportunities. Businesses deploying APIs are experiencing the potential gains but also exposing themselves to challenges inherent in such an open approach to computing. The booming mobile application and Internet of Things market rely on APIs for access to back-end services, information and systems.
“API adoption is exploding, but not every API deployment is successful,” said Roberto Medrano. “As business escalate the priority of their API projects, they need to think about a long term API management strategy. Businesses are unearthing issues such as inefficient scaling, compromised security, long development cycles and an uncontrolled sprawl of multiple versions. IT managers need best practices for managing API development from securing to monitoring APIs and managing the entire life cycle of API development. That’s the goal of the presentation.”
Powering the API Economy
SOA Software’s API Management Solution is the most comprehensive on the market today. It is a secure, robust platform that companies can use to share and manage their APIs with the growing app developer community, their partners, and customers. The platform manages, monitors and secures APIs, ensuring that these APIs deliver the level of service customers and partners require; that corporate and customer information and assets are secure; and that the integrity of the corporate brand is protected.
