IBM Customers can now quickly and securely connect their mobile and web apps to their backend MQ infrastructure
LOS ANGELES, CA. – FEBRUARY 11TH, 2014 – SOA Software, an API Management and SOA Governance leader that powers the API economy, today announced support for IBM WebSphere MQ. This new capability allows WebSphere MQ customers to easily support the next generation of mobile and web applications.
“As enterprises gear up for mobile, cloud and new web workloads, they need a unified SOA and API management solution that leverages their existing services and infrastructure and makes them available externally and internally,” said Alistair Farquharson, CTO of SOA Software. “The recent enhancements to our API Management solution give IBM Websphere MQ customers the ability to quickly unlock the value in their backend systems.”
SOA Software runs WebSphere MQ-based SOA services and APIs on the IBM WebSphere DataPower hardware appliance. The combination of IBM WebSphere DataPower and WebSphere MQ, managed by SOA Software’s SOA and API management solutions, means customers can quickly and cost effectively utilize their robust WebSphere MQ messaging backbone for the challenges of mobile, cloud, and new market channels.
SOA Software’s API management solution can mediate REST-to-WebSphere MQ. Utilizing DataPower’s powerful mediation capabilities on the network, IBM customers leverage SOA Software’s management tools to easily model REST-based APIs. Through the DataPower appliance, these APIs communicate with iOS and Android apps using OAuth, while integrating with a fully-modeled, secured, and lifecycle-driven set of WebSphere-MQ based backend services including z/OS mainframe resources.
IBM WebSphere MQ is a powerful messaging platform, used by over 10,000 organizations for everything from asynchronous messaging to z/OS mainframe connectivity and IBM Integration Bus flows. Its support for more than 80 different platform configurations makes it a critical messaging backbone for many of the largest enterprise IT infrastructures.
